Our Mission

Bel canto means "beautiful singing".

This is my passion and joy – to develop each student’s voice into a beautiful instrument that is clear, in perfect pitch, sings on the breath with a lovely quality – never pushing or hurting the voice – that allows them to comfortably sing the music that their heart desires. My hope is that our students develop a true love of singing and sharing their gifts with others.

“Dear Mary Lou,

I remember conducting “Cosi” that summer in Aspen. Tatiana Troyanos sang the role of Dorabella and you sang Despina. Thank you for devoting your life to classical music and to young up and coming artists. Congratulations to you and your teaching.”

-- James Levine, Conductor and Artistic Director of the Metropolitan Opera
